New Addition in the family

My younger sister has popped! Finally, she has been waddling ard in her big tummy for a long while and complaining abt how heavy she is. So Adriel Chua is born on 12 Dec (boy, i like that date) morn. She diluted so fast tt no epidural can be given and it's all natural birth. Kudos to you, sister!

There's a dark birthmark at his leg and my sister was very affected by it. Even though we console her that the fact tt it is on his leg rather than face and he, being a boy, it shldnt matter much, and most impt fact is tt he is healthy, she is still sad abt it. She began to question what has she done wrong in this pregnancy that caused the birthmark. It is ridiculous especially she is a catholic and shldnt believe any possible old wives' tales. I guess, it's all the hormones talking. But it's true, when one is pregnant, the gender of the bb may be impt, but most of all, all mothers wished for, is for the baby to be healthy and no birthmarks on the face or neck.

This boy is quite big @ 3.45kg at birth and have good lungs. He has been screaming and some pp tot i may be motivated to have a 2nd one. Crazy! When i see him crying endlessly, it reminded me so much of Athena when she was young and it gave me shivers just thinking abt a newborn bb.

Here's some pics of him. He is really a handsome little boy :)

Princess is Sick

Princess fell sick when we came back from HK. Flu and cough which alot of pp say it's due to the bad HK weather. I have to agree. She recovered but who knows, she had fever last Sat.

It was hovering ard 37.4 - 37.8... so we decided not to bring her to A&E since all PDs are closed on Sat's afternoon. However, at nite, it got worse. It went up to 38.7!!!! We only gave her Paracetamol as we dont have Ibuprofen at home. We were worried but didnt panic at first. But on Sunday nite, her temperature hit 39.7 degree!!! It really freaked me out. I feel so helpless has a parent. We sponged her down but she didnt like it as she wanted to sleep. She was burning and i kept playing all those horror stories abt kids have side effects from high fever. I couldnt sleep at all that nite as i keep waking her up to check her temperature. First time i feel so helpless being a mother :(

I took childcare leave on Mon and rushed her to see a PD first thing in the morn. Turned out there's a virus going ard. (so all parents be aware) and she had throat infection. Since the fever has been there for a while, Doc decided to give her anti-biotic but warned tt it may gives her Diarrhea. Boy, was she right. Princess LS like 5 -6 times a day and even shit at nite. Her bum became so red tt she cried when we changed her. Gosh, heart-pained! After 3 days, we decided to stop the antibiotics.
Keeping my fingers crossed now tt she will recover this weekend... pray...

HK Trip

Yup, some of you have seen the pics. We have went to Hong Kong and back in one piece. It was the first travel tt we have with Athena, so was all excited. More of the fact that we are bringing her than the trip itself.

It's her first plane ride and we are all excited to see her reaction. Luckily in both cases, taking off (to and fro), we made her milk so that the suckling action will not caused ear block and discomfort for her. Her reaction? Bored..... hahahaaa.. cos she's confined to either the bassinet or the seat. It doesnt suited her pointed backside (meaning, she cant sit still). We had a hard time entertaining her and making her nap. Luckily, the flight is only abt 3 hours. I dun think she's able to last any longer than that.

The whole trip, we were very "tourist-like". Cos' i brought my parents and i tried to bring them to all the common places of interest so that they can tell their frens tt they have been to HK. So we went, "Wang - da - sian", "Da-yu-shan" and the peak etc. We also go temple street and "nue-ren" street to walk ard. Food is great, shopping will have been great too. Too bad, i have a bored toodler ard and she cant stand shopping for too long!!! I have to give those outlets a miss ... pity... :(

Everyone asked whether Athena enjoyed the trip. I think she enjoyed the hotel room and bath-tub most. Hahahaaa... she will be walking ard the room, picking up her shoes or trying to wear our shoes and looking herself at the mirror. Yes, the verdict is out, she's a vain-pot like her mummy.... She bathe in the bath-tub and since it's something different, we always had a hard time getting her to come out of her bath. She enjoyed it so much. Hence, i told hubby next time, we dun have to travel far. Just book a hotel room in Sentosa, my gal will love it. Save $$ hor...

She's quite friendly and waved to all the sales pp in HK stores. They loved her and she entertained them. Only regret is, we didnt bring a pram. Dun asked why as it is a long story....next trip, taking coach to Genting... challenging
