Did i mention b4 that we are buying a new car? We are currently driving a small Kelissa which is a 1-litre car. When we put in a baby seat behind, we can only sit one additional person comfortably. So we have been thinking abt getting a new one for very long.
Hubby was very excited when i told him the idea. I guess all MEN love to buy bigger cars. Hence immediately he started looking at the classified ads and start calling. Immediately we got a good deal in nissan for a latio 1.6 @ $37k for a weekend car. Everyone told me tt latio very ugly but i gus i am a very practical pax. If the price is right and the car is big, who cares abt the look. Heheeee... i am sure i wont say the same for my shoes and clothes :P
The funny thing is even my mum is supportive for our change of car. Being my mum, she tends to object whenever my bro-in-laws want to change cars. But when we told her abt it, she is all agreeable and said it's time we change. Hahahaa.... must be she's tired of being squeezed behind our car.
Anyway, we got our COE and getting our new car soon. btw, we are trying to sell our old car, so if anyone is interested, u know who to look for... call me :)

Guilty
Sigh... worked late yesterday. My official working time is 9am but i am often in office by 815pm and will try to leave by 630pm everyday. Unfortunately yesterday, i had to stay late.
My company is migrating to new system and yesterday was a key deadline. I have to ensure APJ is ok before i leave. Hence i only manage to leave the office at 8pm. When i reach home it was almost nine and Athena was falling asleep. Partly, she only had one long nap yesterday compared to her usual 2.
We brought her back and within minutes, she fell asleep. This morning, i had to rush to work as i have a conf call at 8am. She's awake and i can sense that she wants me to carry her. I didnt. Partly becos' i knew she wont let me go if i did and i will even feel more guilty.
On the way to work, i felt really sad... i dun usually feel this way. Mayb i am growing strong attachment to her and guilt at not spending enough time with her .....
Sigh, woes of a working mum....

Updates
As mentioned, it's my gal's lunar birthday last wed. Meant to pose these pictures earlier. This cheapo mummy went to buy a donut for her and stick a candle for fun.
Her best fren aka Cousin Angelica blow on her behalf though... 2 of my good frens are coming tonite. One is a stay-home mum to a 2 yr old while the other took a break from work to look after her 2 boys. Mm... it got me thinking. Nowadays, more and more successful women are taking a break from their work for family. Would i ever be one of them?... Hahhaaa... prob not! i seriously cant imagine myself staying at home with Athena :P
But got to admit, she's more fun now and more responsive. Quite cheeky and naughty but it's my little Princess Precious ;)

Lunar Birthday today
Today is my little Rascal's Lunar birthday. Yes, she's officially 2 yr old now based on lunar calendar. She will turn one end of this mth!
June has a lot of birthdays for my family. Athena shared this mth with 2 of her cousins. And the interesting thing is that their names all started with "A", Angelica and Ariel. What a coincidence!
Ariel has her birthday party last Sun and it was a house full of screaming kids. Including her other cousins, there were a total of 7 kids and 2 babies (one of them is Athena). And since my eldest sister is away with her 2 boys, Elken was the only boy in the group. Wah, wat a total imbalance. Hopefully my younger sister who is now 3 mths' pregnant is having a boy. Then the ratio will not be so skewed. Hahahaaaa....
I must say, i am starting to enjoy motherhood. Wait, wait, wait...... not so much that i will want a 2nd one yet!!!! Heeheee...
Athena is getting more responsive so it is much more fun now. People asked me whether the sacrifice of my personal time is worth it. i have to say, "Yes"! I cant imagine life without her now. Though i will yearn for some "Me"-time once a while, life with her is rewarding.
Oh ya, asked my mum to prepare mee suan for her today. This little greedy pig will love it!!!! :)

Ball-ball
Hey, my gal said "ball-ball" yest!!!! I am so proud of her. But then, she hasnt said "pa-pa" or "ma-ma" yet... Apparently, "ball-ball" is more interesting than us. Hahaaaa.... She can say "mum-mum" which everyone said she's calling me. But i beg to differ. I think she meant food and she wants to eat the food!!!
My mum said she's a greedy pig. In fact, has let her taste laksa the other day. OMG!!!! She didnt cry. Jus drank lots of water after that. Mum said, next time if we want my gal to drink more water, jus feed her spicy food! Aiyo!!!! I guess i can understand y some women decided to stay at home to look after ur kids. Cos' u want them to be raise up YOUR way. Means no sweets and chocolates until 5 yrs old and no adult food when she's not ready. But for me, though i am quite kan-cheong and KS, i think i will close one eye in such cases. Cos' i really want to work and only way for me to work in peace is to know that my child is in good hands. Though such small incidents may happen, i think overall my gal is growing up in a caring and loving environment which is most impt.
Anyway, i am planning to give her egg yoke this weekend. Yes, she hasnt have a taste of egg yoke yet cos' she has been coughing and PD has advised me not to introduce any new food. I think she's recovering so will try this weekend. One key push factor is tt it's her lunar birthday next week. And i do want my mum to cook mee sua with egg for her.
Keeping my fingers crossed that she has NO adverse reaction to egg yoke.
Btw, it's my favourite niece, Angelica's birthday today. She's 2 years old and i bought a beautiful cupcake for her.... going back early today and celebrate with her :)

Galfrens
I had 2 gatherings past few days. One was with my JC gal frens on Sun while the other was last night with my Community Center (CC) gal frens.
Sunday's batch was fun with kids and bb's talk. One of them are going to "pop" soon while the other one is trying. The rest all have kids. And even though i had to take care of Athena all by myself (as hubby wanted to do something), i still managed to catch up with them while Athena took a nap. Last nite i had dinner with the CC gals. 3 of us have children of similar age while the other one just ROM.
I really enjoyed myself in both days and it has been a while since i felt that i am having some ME-time. I guess with age, one tends to meet fewer new frens and i really treasure my friendship with these 2 groups. They are all very different but somehow we managed to maintain the friendship till now.
Meanwhile, it's always great to meetup .... :)
